Open Pet Food Facts

Some barcode results contain information from Open Pet Food Facts. Its database is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0, and individual database contents are available under the Database Contents License.

PawLens keeps these records separately identified, does not import Open Pet Food Facts product images, and displays attribution on every result that uses this source.

openFDA

Recall information comes from the openFDA food enforcement API. The FDA generally makes its data available as public-domain material; see the openFDA terms.

PawLens-contributed label data

Label facts extracted from photos submitted directly to PawLens are maintained separately from the Open Pet Food Facts cache. Uploaded photos are deleted after analysis. The resulting factual label data may remain in the shared PawLens catalogue so later scans can resolve instantly.
